Exeter -Zurich won 'group No. 14 ' in the 0.II.A. on Monday night when they went to Clinton and put the Croton team out to ` the tune of 9-2, this --giving us the group. This gives the locals 9 straight wins, which is some record, and the fans are sure .proud'of the team. Clinton was out- classed in every way and they ad- mitted it. After the game they gave the boys- their,, best wishes ,that they would' go through.. and win the cha.m- pionship. Clinton put up a hard fight for; the first twenty min- nutes, which ended 2-0' for our team. After that Clinton began to fade ilia - der the strain and there was . no doubt as to the outcome. Our boys were right on the job. Every man on the locals sure was in top form and they sure gave McGeoch in the nets a busy night. Everyone wicked shot and they seldom shoot from outside the defence, but work right in and many times draw the goal tender out. That is the brand of hockey that wins–games. No mat- ter how 'good a goal- tender is, if the players get inside the defence they can usually heat hies. Clinton have defaulted the North- ern league game to Exeter -Zurich team'. After the game on Mon - chance 54 13 day night they claimed they had no 3 258,1 8 43 chance and have dropped 7 ,330 3 3 19 Aped out. WATCHING The, London Advertiser says "Ex eter-Zurich is one tears that may take some looking after while the in- termediate championship is being carelessly passed around to some of the better-known towns. Last year with little ,practice, the team won thein group handily and gave Kitchener and Stratford good battles in both the O. H. A. and N. I3. L This year they are a strois'ger tease are getting in practices regularly and. won't be so apt to be stage-etr`'uelr as they were last ;near. They have one of the heaviest teams that»4-'111 start. on the i'ouruey toward the intermed- iate titles" t ......... he • The first game in the second round, 'will . be played in Exeter on Friday evening when the fast Ingersoll team will cross sticks with our play- ers. It will be a game everyone will want to see. Nine straight wins is doing pretty well. Here's hoping fora few more. Look out for Goderich Thursday. night. When Kitchener meets the Exeter- Zurich team this year they will find a much different team to last year. Get ready' for the special to Strat- ford about the middle of February. Galt were last year's champions, but not this year as yet. London is out of the O.H.A., but we may here from them in the N.H.L. Here's hoping. Sarnia took their first fall Mon- day night. They went down before Glencoe 5-0. About half of the crowd at the Clinton game were followers of the Exeter -Zurich team. They, sirely en- joy a winning team. About ail one can !fear in town `when there is a hocitey match is: "Are you going to the game?" The telephone operator works overtime when the boys ai`e awoy from Home. Most of the calls are: "How is the score?" Clinton wanted to know where we got the little goaler. We admit he is small, but oh, he is mighty. With new teams coming we will' need to inform them not to try to knock- over our defence men, as it can't be clid. llindsnas's1s is malting a hit in the group as a comedian as well as a real Hockey player.
