The June record shows that there was a decrease In smallpox, only 170 cases having Ween reported, and measles has shown a consider- able drop from 3,613 to 390 cases. Diphtheria, however, increased slightly, in June -there being 371 cases as. compared with 342. FoIlick, of `town: Miss Boyle was cleaning some wearables with gasoline when the fumes ignit- ed, her death being caused from .the burns and shock. Mrs. W. K. Passmore is leaving on Saturday for the West where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Win. J. Ryckman of near Moose Jaw, Sask., She also intends visiting friends in Alberta. Pennell, of the Salvation Army, who have start- ed a branch of the work in Exeter, have taken up rooms over the Ford garage, They conducted a number cf open air services during the week and were assisted over the week -end by Adj. Wright of Stratford. Services were held on Sunday'in the Town Hall and, also in Vtictoria Park in the evening. He had not been feeling well for some consider- able time, and sold out his business a couple of years ago, since which time lie had beeri living retired.
