mediate relations. Miss Pearl Payn
ter, sister of the bride, played the
wedding march. After' the wed-
ding breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Kemp

RETIRES, APLEIt PASTORATE
OF THIRTY YEARS,
Rev. Dr. J. A. Turnbull, an Us -
borne Old Boy and brother of Mr.
W. A. Turnbull and Mrs. Gildllan,
of Usborne, has resigned from the
active pastorate of West Presby-
terian Church, Toronto, which posi-
tion he has held for the past thirty
years. In tendering his resignation
Dr. Turnbull stated: "that the sole
reason for resigning from the active
ministry was the poor state 4f his
health, and ,he expressedthe hope
that' congregation would put noth-
ing in the way of his entering into
retirement." Dr.. Turnbull has been
appointed pastor emeritus of the
congregation with a retiring allow-
ance of $1200 per year. 'Thecongre-
gation placed on record an expres-
sion of their love and esteem for Dr.
Turnbull and their deep appreeia-
tion of the long life of magnificent
service which he has been,eriabled to
render to the Presbyterian Church
in Canada, to thecommunity in
which he has labored and to West I.

A qdiet but very pretty wedding
was solemnized at .St. Andrew's
manse, London, on Wednesday, May
11, by Rev. D. C. MacGregor, when
Irene Schroader, eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Schroader of Shipka,
was united M marriage to Mr. Carl
MacDougall of London. The bride
was smartly -attired in a ' going-
away suit' of navy blue serge, with
handsomely embroidered hat to
match, and wore a corsage of Sun-
set roses. The "bride was attended by
her cousin, Miss Ora Mason, who
wore a charming dress of navy blue
messaline and a pretty hat of Alice
blue nieline. McCoure MacDougall,
brother of the groom, acted' as best
than. The bride was the' recipient of
many beautiful gifts, which includ-
ed a handsome dinner service from
the staff of McConnell & Ferguson.
The happy couple on • their return.
