CLEAN UP YOUR PREMISES:
Should a general "clean-up" day
be'
designed by the town council or
should the citizens take.. the time
that z
is most suitable to ..them to
clean' up their back yards, fix , up
their flower gardens, improve their
lawns and in ` general : make this
town attractive' and more healthy?
In most every back yard there is or
was, a certain amount of rubbish
which accumulated during the win-
ter, and this should be gathered up
and burned or otherwise disposed of.
Lawns should be thoroughly raked
and cut and the flower beds should
be prepared., -4A half day or a few
hours per day for several days
would improve the appearance of
he town greatly, •• Freshen up the
boulevards, and the walks, and
make your own properties attract -
re.
Clean up the yardse and out • houses
and freshen up the cellars and re-
move all rubbish and destroy it;
This will°make the , town healthier, much more beautiful, and will
e energy well expended. it should
be clone before the grubs and insects
et back to active life, and would
top the fly menace to a very con-
iderabie extent. Destroy their
reeding places and the fly nuisance
ill disappear,. Clean up and. clean
up quickly, One man in a block can
et an: example that will he follow -
d by everyone in the block. Set
ie ' example in your district..Begin
