The Easter services at Caven Pres- byterian Church were greatly enjoy- ed by a large attendance at both gatherings. Special music in the eve- ning Was particularly pleasing. 'Several of their children have been i11 with scarlet fever and recently their daughter, Verna Mae, °succumed to the disease. Mr. Beaver is at present down with the fever. THE LATE CI A1J ES . IRISTIE. In the death of Charles Christie on the 25th of March, 1921, at his home on •Simcoe street, this town, there ended a long career of activity, up- rightness and usefulness: The late Mr. Christie was born at Oxford Mills, Grenville County, Ontario, in 1842, of Scottish descent on his pa- ternal_ side and of U. E. Loyalist stock on that of his mother. Of a numerous and robust family, five of, his aged sisters survive, near Kemp ville, Ont. The, widow of the deceas- eci was Miss Mary ,Tane Howey, whom he married in 1868. They lived for a time at Mooresville, com- ing to Stephen in 1873' where he farmed until liis retirement some 17 years ago. Mi Christie , c; for many years assessor of his township.
