AGRICULTURE AND WOMEN'S
INSTITUTE CLASSES,
The Short Course in Agriculture be-
im; condected in Exeter during _ the
past two weeks attracted ,a class of
from 20 to. 25 young farmers, The
course is under the direction of Mr,
Stothers, agriculture representative for
Huron, aped he an ,certain, dates has
been assisted by other expertts in•
agriculturea judging of various kinds
of stock and the hearing of lectures
on agrituitural topics constitutes the
course.
The 'Women's Institutes of Huron,
dale and Exeter have been conducting
classes in Exeter on domestic science,
during the past two ,weeks, and the
women of the neighborhood to the
number of nearly fifty have been tak-
ing advantage of the classes. Miss
Grant is in charge-.nf the class. There
was great enthusiasm and apprecia-
tion of the lectures.
HOCKEY.
The second » r of hockey games
in the local schedule took place on
Wednesdae eight of last week, and
they were close and interesting con-
tests. The I.O.O.F. and High School
tied 4-4; and the Clerks defeated the
Bankers, 6-5. To the spectator the
two banes on one ,might make a fairly
len; session in a cold rink, and we
w.oul,3 advise shortening the periods
from 20 to 15 minutes, with only afire
minute rest, The results were—
