Last week Miss Stella, Gregory
pleasantly entertained twenty young
ladies tto a social .evening, and on Sat-
urdav was the hostess of a bright af-
ternoon tea 'to over twenty zrienelst
Again on Tuesday afternoon nearly
thirty ladies enjoyed Miss Gregory's
hospitality from 'four to six o'clock
and spent e cheery hour over the tea-
cups. Those who were such leen& as-
sistants in looking after the needs at
the guests were, Mises Evelyn Hus-
ton, Edith Moncur, Emma Fishee,,Mae
Wood, Gladys Bissett and Vera Rowe.

Capt. Wm. 3. Knight, who is on leave
of absence !from the Imperial Army,
spent a few days this .week in, town
with relatives and friends, who were
indeed pleased to see him., The cap-
tain was born in Exeter, being a son
of the (tate Mr. and Mrs. Frank Knight,
and most of his life was spent heret
Shortly after he had graduated in med-
icine the war broke out and he im-
mediately went over seas, serving ell
through the wag up at the, froeat with
the boys as a member of the media
ciorps,, He has been decorated 'With
the 'efieitary .Cross. and two bars, the
Croix de Guerre of Franee, end the
Order of St. Anne of Ruesee. Aft&
demnbirization he joined the imperial
Sorces, and well shortly return to
England. During his leave he has
visited en various parts of Ontaeioamd
also Califbinia.
