Sudden Death. --Readers •of the Ad-
vocate were shocked to hear of the
accidental death of John Doig, jr., at
Iron. Bridge, Algoma, District recent-
ly It appears ha left to seei some men
working on a lumbering contract for
him, which business he had been fol-
lowing for same yearsa He took his
rifle to get a rabbit ;on the way. Not
returning -4s expectea search was
made and he was found dead beside
a, fence withthe rifle beside him. It
appears that in betting over the
fence the eifle was discharged and the
bullet atruck hilaa in, the head causing
instant death. On receiving the sad
intelligence his two brothers, Thomas
and William left for %the scene of the
accident. Deceased was the eldest
son ref John Doig, contractor and
builder of this township, and was born
two mites east of 1ippan Jan., 7, 1872.
When. 12 years of age his mother, .E1 -
len Stewart McKay, daughter of An-
gus McKay, died.; He had been in
Algoma many pears and had suceed-
ecl in. accumulating considerable means
by hard work and ,close application to
business. He was clever, intelligent,
