ing some heavy shipments of cattle
to the Nee- York market of late, add-
ed another large shipment of twenty
eare last week. On Tuesday of this
week heshipped four more loads, thus
making a clean-up of his entire stock.
They have 'of necessity to be prime
for that market.

Society, Goderich, and Crown Attor-
nee Seager of Goderieh were here. on
Tuesday investigating the matter of
pacing the children. <of Blanshard Wil-
liams under the. care of the Children;',
Aid Society. Although decision was
made to take the children to God-
erich they are to be lett at home for
one Week.
The Darktown Swells, a colored ag-
gre,ate n appeared. in the Opera
House Thursday night and to say the
least the performance on, the whole
wag pretty crude and not worthy the
patronage accorded at. There were
very few redeeming features and it will
be just as well for them to give •Ex-,
titer the go-by should they ever come
to these parts again.
The annual meeting of the Chiadreri's
A?-] Soe'iety for the County of Huron
will be held in the Children's Shelter,
Goderich on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 3
oeloek pini. At this meeting, in, add-
ition to routine business, the election
of officers will take place, to be fol-
jowe:.r at 4 o'clo.k by reading and cen-
siieration of reports, and addresses ort
the work of the Sociiety.
Before Magistrates Sanders and
Hawkins on Wednesday of last wee(,
two men, of this neighborhood on sep-
arate charges, were given preliminary
hearing. The charges were -ef the un-
mentionable kind. One man was ad-
mitted to ball for 52000, and the other
sent to Goderich to await trial. Infor-
mation was laid bj- High Constable A
Whitesides, and Crown Attorney Sea-
ger +of Goderich prosecuted. The
trials will take palace in Goderich about
December 9th of the one, and the
trial ,of the other, who pleaded guilty.,
took place on. Monday of this week,
sentence being reserved until Monday
of next -week.
BANK MANAGERS CHANGE.
There seems to have been quite a
general-chenge in the managers of the
Canadian Bank sof Commerce recently,
among them being former managers of
the Exeter branch. Mr. G. W. Harri-
son. has been transferred from Char-
lottetown,
harlottetown, P. E. I., to Stratford; Mr.
G. L. Waugh from Grimsby to Truro,
N. S., and Mr. H. J. White from Port
Perry to Grimsby.

The non -jury were bald its Goderich
last week, with Chief justice Sir Wil-
liem Muiock persiding. T.here. were
three cases on the ,list, two of which

in Main St. Sunday School room on
Friday afternoon, at which a num-
ber of the members were present and
listened very attentively to an inter-
esting and instructive address given
by Mrs. Wickwire, Master Robert
Gatnbrill also gave an instrumental
which was well rendered, he else
presided at the pianoand was ap-
pointed pianist for meetings., Master
Harold White, vice-president acted
as ehairman for the meeting in the
absence of the president, Master

Main St. Methodist eahurch has
formed a Laymen's Association to
assist in the great forward move-
ment and National Campaign. The
aims are, fellowship, brotherhood,
consecration, christian service, mut-
ual co-operation to advance the king-
dom of Christ in the world. Mr. Geo..
Mawson is the Secty, and will be
pleased to receive names of those de-
siring to become members. Two Lay
nten, Messrs. Chas. Aldw orth and W.
F. Abbott will take charge of the
mid -week service in the church on.

which is receiving the anxious and
careful consideration of our medical
officers at health, Consumption is a
more dangerous disease. More deaths
occur from this eause than all- other
+.:ontagious diseases combined. Every
one is urged to acquaint themselves
regarding, Tuberculosis. _Ministers
and teachers have a special .opportun-
ity to instruct those under their care.
