BIG CATTLE SHIPMENT.
Mr. Wes. Snell shipped eight ear -
loads of cattle to Jersey City, N. J ,
on Thursday. Among the shipment
were oaf steers that weighed on an av-
eraee 1504 pounds, or 1448 pounds of
an average on the whole shipment.
This shipment was the largest that has
left then; parts in 'many .years and
netted about $37,000.

A quiet but very pretty wedding

and Mrs. John Robinson, when their
daughter Lillian was united in mar.-

wall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Triebner of Stephen Township. Both
bride and groom•a-ere unattended. The
young couple will make their future
home in Cornwall, where Mr. Trieb-
ner holds a lucrative position as lea-
cher in the Commercial College. Har-
ry will have the heartiest and best
wisher of his host of friends; here for
his future happiness and prosperity.
DEATH OF WM. TREVETHICK,
The Moon of McLfort, Sack., refers
to the death an July 22nd, of a former
well-known resident of Exeter, in the
following words,—"William Treve-
thick, an old time resident of. the dis-
erict, passed away on Tuesday after-
noon, aged 68 years, • Decjeased had a
severe attack of the flu last season
which turned into dropsy. He has
lived in this province for fifteen years
and far the past eight months a had
been a resident of Melfort., Mr.
Trev;ethick was born. in Newcastle,
Ontario. He is survived by his wife
and a family of six children, three
boy; and three .girls; -Charles of Nais
berry; Herbert of A2elfoart; Fred of
Carmingay, Alberta; Lydia of Daven-
port Ia., Mrs. W. N. Attrile of Star
City and Gertrude, at home."'

A very interesting wedding was
solemnized - at the Trivitt Memorial
Church on Monday last when Miss
Gladys Cooke became the wife: of Mr.
Joseph Smith. Both the -contracting
parties have seen service in, the Great
War, ,Miss Cooke as a V. A. D. in a
Naval Hospital in England and Mr.
Smith as a leading stoker one one a
His Majesty's torpedo boats. - The
bride, who looked charming in her
white silk bridal dress with veil trim-
med with orange blossoms, was given
away by her father, who served in the
230th Forestry Battalion in France.
Mr. James Broumpton, the first Can-
adian soldier to. bewounded in
France, acted as best man. The bride
was attended by, a number ,of V.A.D.
nurses, from the' St. Johns Ambul-
ance Division in London, intluding
Mrs Thomson Dis. Superintendent and
Dr, Hugh Stevenson sat As the bride
