SPANISH INFLUENZA
Spanish influenza has made such
headway itt the United States that the
work of supnresai!ng it is treated by
the Government asi a war measures. A,
bulletin issued by, th;e New York
health department describes the dis-
ease as an epidemic of pneumonia,
Investigation so, fang has failed to find
the cause of the disease; but the New
York bulletin ,eaves the following in-
structions for avoiding it:
Don't crowd. Don't worry. Don't
jaw] the entrances of railways, the-
atres and ,places; of asseinibly.
Don't put unclean things into your
nioutln Don't .east or drink in dirty
places.
Don't expose yoursieif to cold or
wet, Don't ever exert, and avoid all
excesses.
Doan't go out if feeling ill. Take
carie. 'Keep fit.
Don't,. forget to use handkerchief,
covering mouth when coughing or
sneezing.
Don't eat without first washing the
bands.
Wl]ia4 is really alarming about the
disease is that it finds its victims
among .the younlgl and healthy as well
as among those who would" naturally
be expected to be tunable to resist
lt. It haus had many vic tints in the
camps among the soldiers who were
regarded as physicaly fit in every
way. It is certainly -worth guarldiing
against.
