A peculiar tangle has arisen over
the Weber liquor case, It appears

was taken from Seaforth to Clintanl
to 'be returned to him at Sealfot-th,
but it is illegal to ship liquor at the
present time, and what the. court has
ordered the Act says 'must not be
done.
Pte. Archie Davis, No 1 District
Drpat who was convicted by a di3-
trict court-martial of desertion re-
cently, was 'last week sentenced to
serve 30 days in detention, for his of-
fence. The sentence was, read out at
the armories, the entire regiment pa-
rading to hear it promulgaded, The
original sentence ,of the court was 90 -
days tunnan, but owing to. the good
record of the prisoner ,.n the army
prior to his desertion; 60 days of the
s'enaeuce were remitted.'
• Private Norman Norry, who came
back from overseas a few months ago,
after he had 'been wounded in the left
temple by shrapnel, causing a total
blindness of the left eye, an Tuesday
of this week blew a piece of the
shrapnel out of his nose. It came
out without any pain, having gradual-
ly worked through the ':flesh to the
nostril. This is the second piece to
come out in, the sante way since the
wound htealed. Each piece is about
