PETER BAWDEN The peoile of Exeter were shocked to hear on Thursday evening, June 27, of the Budde death that aftemivolan of Fanny Stai<ilake;, wife of '.Mr. Peter Bawden, which sad event took place in Toronto, General Hospital about 2 o'clock thtat afternoon following an operation for inward goitre, from hicli she had suffered for the p sst. five years. Recently the trouble had become more acute,and consequently she went to Toatonita on Monday last to see if an operation would bring. trelief The operation was; performed about 11 o'clock' in. the roaming, and was a success ,in itself, but -the shock was too much for her heart and tleath followed as stated. She was aged 57 years, 1 .month, 15 days. Bonn on the old homestead,, a.half -mile south of Exeter. she had resided here all her life and was beloved and esteemed by a wide circle of friends and rela- tives, who sympathize most sincerely with the bereasseid husband and two sons, Field of Exeter and Frank of Toronto Three brothers and one sis- ter: also survive, .Harry of Grand Bend John of Parkhill, Ardagh of Viinnipeg and Mrs. Wm. TCCerslake of Weyburn, Sack. WM. WESTCOTT On Wednesday evening last the death teak place alt the family resid- ence Huron Street, of 'Sarah Del- bridge, wife of William Westcott, at the age :of 74 a'eearrs, 9 month's' and 11 dalys. Deceased had been in failing health for about two years, and early in March she biecaane worse. Not un- til five weeks ago, however, did she take her bed, and the end dame rapidly. Her illness was due to an- aemia. Born in. England, she came tto Canada with, her parents when, a small child, and, the family for a short time resided near Landon, after which they moved to Winchelsea, in Us - borne Township. Shewast married 52 years ago to Mr, William We(stcott and from that time until three years ago when they retired to Exeter, they lived on the 3rd concession, of Us - berme. Mr. and; Mrs. Westcott cele- brated their Golden wedding five years ago. Deceased was a mast es timable woman, and respected by all who knew her.
