Although the( winter was severe and
supplies for bees were scarce, the dis-
trict keepers claim that last winter
did riot a'ff'ect the bees as other win-
ters .have. The beekeeperrs claim a
boss .of about 25 per cent, but com-
pared with other winters this is not
above the average.
Just niow the ,raising of rabbits is
being considered by many as a sub-
stitute for beef, which has become so
dear that .many cannot buy it. The
large Belgium rabbiits produce a del-
icious dish, 01 food that equals chick-
en. They live ch(eaply..on clover, hay
and oats or roots. While beef only
produces 50 per cent. of meat the
rabbit gives 85 per cent. digestible
matter They else estimate that a
single pair will paioduce over four
thousand in a year.
WOUNDED THE FOURTH T1_ME.
Mr. and Mrs: G. E. Anderson i e-
ceived word ors Susnday that their son,'
Private Edward George Anderson o
the Mounted Rifles, had been admitted
to No. 8 Field Ambulance depot on
April 16, "concussion, buried and
wound.', which probably means that
hel was' near the spat where a large
`shell had struck, and he was buried
by the earth liar a time, was wounded
and also suffered from, concussion.
informationis to be sent later. This
is the „fourth time in two years at
the Front that Private Anderson has
been put out of action. On the first
occasion be suffered from concussion,
tater bei was wounded .in the left arm,
and th1e third time he received a rifle
bullet in the jaw. He is certainly do-
ing

"WITHIN THE LAW".
The play, "-Within the Law" .pre-
sented by Mrs. R MurlsisJones and
cast Seaforth, in. the Opera House,
Exeter, On April 17th, met with an
enthusiastic reception] by a large aud-
ience, ;although the. weather was very
unfavorable. The play is a mast en-
gaging one and has many strong .feat-
ures. Mrs: Murles;s-(jon s, in the lead-
ing role thaws exceptional talent. Her
work was of a very high order, and
she represented everry„phase of .the
character of Mary Turner in a truly
ideal manner. Her brother, Mr. K. J.
Francis; as Inspector, Burke, put farce
and chlaracter into .his not altogether
pleasing part.., Mr? .Geo. Israel had a
difficult eneatIonall part as Joe Gerson•
but he handled it in a masterly man-
ner. - efiss' Ev O Greig as Aggie
Lynch was most pleasing -and left
nothing to be desired; while Miss Leila
Best as Helen Morris made o. very
favorable impression. .The ether mem-
bers oaf”. the company:: without except-
ion took their parts •well, and they
are all deserving of praise for the •ex-

By the time a man or woman is 60,
the kidneys and bladder uced a little
help to keep them in good wort:inig
order.
Rheumatism and backache so often
accompany the later years of life, most
people have an idea health and vigor
cannot be expected much after the
fiftieth year.
Asea matter of fact there is no basis
for these fears, we could Show a number
of letters proving our contention that if
GIN PILLS are taken to keep the urine
normal, prevent colds settling on the
kidneys or bladder, and ward off Rheit-
matic attacks"lialmost everyone can
enjoy phealth ealth at this lae period.

great and:a campaign• is n'ow on to.
secure the funds. Certain amounts
have been apportioned to the various
