Six hundred appeals from the de-
cisio'ns of. the :localtribunals are yet
to ,be beard by 'the ,County judges in
this district, but it is hoped that they
will all be cleared up by the end of
the month;. More than 1,800 appeals
were tiled by 'men (its thitsi district,
who .failed to secure exemption from
military 'service from the tribunals in
their own districts, and all the judges
of the district have been kept very
busy on this ,work. Each case must
be heard 'separately.
The Annual. D-feetitng of the patrons
of Winchelsea Creamery will be held
in Aberdeen Hall, 'Ksxktian, on Wed-

DEATH OF MRS. JONES,
The death gook place 'on January
17th at the home of hier son Wesley
loot 10, N.B.., McGillivray, ;af Jane
Lamport relict of the Iate Edward
Jones at Exeter, at -the age of 81
years and 14 day The sinfirmities
resulting ,from advanced years, was

beea residing with her son about these

she and her husband (had retired,
Her husband predeceased her about
ten. years; The late Mrs„ Janes was
highly respectejd,, She was born at
Wand:stock and.moved, - to the north-
ern part of McGillivray ytith her par-
ents:. Here she married Mr. Jones.
Four sons survive,—Levi and Elias
in. the West, Morley ,in Lot don and
Wesley in l'lcGillivray. The funeral
