Mr. Win Delbridge of Usborne de-
livered a load of hogs in town last
week that relaizled him a. nice suns
of money. He purchased the hogs
three months ago and they then av-
eraged 95 pounds a piece and when
marketed 250 pounds a piece. This
is the results of good feeding and
Mr. Delbridge seems to be well skill-
ed in that line.
Miss Mabel Toni, 'eldest daughter.
of Inspector Tom of Goderich, left
July 12 for New York, where she will
leave immediately Dor Europe with
the New York Hospital unit, which
was organized shortly after America
declared war. ,Miss Tom has spent
12 years nursing in New York, and
is a graduate of the New York State
Hospital. When the hospital raised a
unit she at once. joined the nursing
staff, and was home an leave, It is
probable that this unit will go direct
to France to jrelieye ,some of the
French staffs.
Master Sam 'Munro, :winner of the
International Chattipionship, ` Buffalo
N.Y., and little sister, Dorothy, aged
five, the youngest ,!exponent of Nat-
ional and Fancy Dances' in Canada,
will appear in the Dorae Treatre, un-
der the auspices of. the Patriotic Lea-
gue on Wedinesday, July 25th', assist-

barley grisin on. Mr. W., D. Sanders
farm ,Stephen, that measured 4, feet,
11 inches. We Tiave three stalks .of
grain sent in fromthe farm of Mr.
Wes Dearing, 'same township, ,one 01,
barley and the -other two varileties of
wheat The barley stalk measured 5
feet 1 inch she -wheat 5 feet, 5ina.
and 5 feet, 7% inches, respectivelyt
Since. the above a 'stalk of oats grown
on Mr. A. H. Doupe,'s farm, Thames
Road, that measured 4 feet, 6 inches.
These are, dal remarkable growths,
Some stalks„ of "wheat were also
brought in this. week from the farm
of Mr. A. J, Ford measuring five feet,
six inches. The. field /is a fine one,
now although in the spring It looked
as if it should be. plowed up.

ed by the girls of the Soldiers' Aid

Cross on Saturday last resulted in
