Miss M. Finlay visited with: Mr. and
Mrs. Finlay at the parsonage on the
.holiday.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hicks spent. the
'holiday with friends in Blyth.
Mr. F. Essery ,and Mr. W. Blair
spent the holiday with friends here.
Mrs. Lewis of London is spending,
a few days visiting her daughter, Mrs
Thos. Neil.
Mr. L. Abbott visited at his home
here for the weelu-end—also Mr. A.
Parsons of Toronto visited with his
brother Mr. W. d'arsons.
As usual a large crowd were at
Centralia ,to celebrate Dominion Day
Baseball races, etc., strawberry fes-
tival. and a grand concert at sight.
The day was fine and all were a de-
cided success, The morning and af-
ternoon baseball games between Salem
and the hame team were bath won
by the home team.
The baseball team of .F uliartonplay-
ed the Centralia boys an Wednesday
evening of last week, resulting in the
visiting team being the winner, 4-1.
Mr. Cecil Skinner is ereeting a fine
new barn. When comp:e:el it w it be
one of the largest and :::tan in . he
neighborhood. The barn ra;s:ng toak
p'ce on Friday.
Mr. Br -axe Mitchell when returning
from Mr Skinner's barn raising collid-
ed with one of the heavily loaded
Cream trucks from Centralia.
The :assistants luckily escaped any in-
jury, but it did some expensive dam-
age to Mr. Mitchell's car.
Misses Winnie and Hazel Essery of
London -visited at their home here
over the holiday.

Deleware spent the holiday with Mrs.

ering was a splendid success in spite
of the threatening ,weather. The lad-
ies succeeded in; raising $127. A de•

church after the supper at which Mr,

fine selections and Miss 'Kerr recited,
A pantomime, -entitled, ' "Sweet Hour
of Prayer", ,by several girls was well

ding March was played by Miss ;Clara

bride was charmingly' attired in
cream duchess satin,gown, a with ov-
erdress of net, embroidered inpearls
wearing a Tulle veil and carrying bri-
dal roses. Miss Matilda Oestreichfer•
was bridesmaid and wore pale pink
silk crepe de Chen, embnfioidiered
nds and carried ,pink carnations.
\Ir. Wm. Brown. was groomsman! The
;room's gift to the bride was a beaut
ful pearl sunburst, to the bridesmaid
lavalier and chain.; to the grooms -
.nen. a set of gold cuff -links, to the
pia_i.s` a pretty broach, as also to
Miss Martha Oesteicher, cousin, of the
bride who sang "0 Promise Me" dur-
ing the signing of the register. The
gifts were numerous and vastly. Af-
rer congratulations the bridal party
led the way to the din•0,ag roam, which
was decorated with daides and white
fiipings, where all partook of a sum-
ptuous di'a..aer. After the wedding
ale and Mrs. Brown left on a short
:rip to Toronto; Niagara and Kitchen-
er, The briide's'travel ng suit was of
navy blue gabardine, and. wore a plc-'
teresnue hat. After. returning Mr.
and Mrs. Brawn will take up thea' res-
idence on the groom's farm near Zur-
ich.

have been living ,in New Ontario, at•
riyed here last week and will move in-
to the house which he recently bought
from Max •Grattan, and will make this
their future home.—Mrs. Asaph Gra-
velle and Mr. John Holt still continue
very ill.—Mr. Walker from the West
visited with Mr. Thos. Handford for

year ago, and has been forced to give
up his appointment as X-ray special-
ist a.1 account of ill -health.
