Though its many, many miles away,
I` Our Canadian boys are there.
Fighting for liberty we say,
And for those who, willnot. dare.
Our 'thoughts are with:., as our hearts
When following ,our daily routine;
And oftimes in our slumbering parts,.
We drink with them at the canteen.
Tho' many a .home has been saddened
By those who have fought and died,
And have left the ground there red-
dened:
Far "its win. or die" they cried.
So parents and 'wives be an your
guard,
Who have laved ones at the fray,
Togreet the messing.er of -' death,
the" hard,
When he : has come your way.
Oh women! when your door bellrings
Do not dread its call;
Far when the 'try of war did ring,
Your sons answered ' the call.
War! War! its 'hell en earth,
With all its modern improvements;
But our boys will only think it mirth`
When the Boche have answered our
atonements.

happy indeed, as it proved to bet the
first ideal night for such an entertain

and then watched and listened with
intense interest for two hours to the
unfolding of the plot. The quality of
the performance ,was evidenced by
the perfect order which reigned
throughout and the manifest delight
which shone an the sea, of faces turn-

appear tobe intuition in selection of
the individuals to act the different
parts as each oae seemed to tie ex-
actly fitted to play the part assign-
ed to them. It its only fair ,to the
young actors to say that they were
absolutely self trained; selected their

ing, The Exeter Orchestra gave free-
ly of their services and dived theirr part
to make this 'entertainment: a brilliant
success, The proceeds amounted to
close $125.00, and will be devoted to
patriotic purposes.
