Mr. W. ; J Beer met with an unfor-
tunate accident last week. He has of
late been using some. eye -water for
as affection of the eye, and on this
occasion he inadvertently got 'hold of
a bottle containing carbolic acid, and
before 'recognizing his mistake had
dropped a little into. the eye, with
the result that it was severely burn-
ed, although not as badly as one
would imagine. He has been forced
to keen to his room since to avoid
the light and the pain that would,
naturally. result from using the ocher'
eye,. He is assured that with care
the sight will net be injured, end he
will be well lin a few more days,

died in Winnipeg on April 22, at the
