day, owing to illness, Rev. Baker of
Crediton took his work in James St.

stand Mr. Thompson has resigned his
late posit Eon as traveller and has ac-
cepted a position with a Taranto firm
and they will shortly move to Lon-
don to to reside,
Mr. Robert Bissett and daughter,
Miss Grace, of Claresholm, Alta.,are
spending a few days among relatives'
and friends here. Mr. Rissett is an
Exeter Old Bay, being a son of the
late. Robert Bissett, but he left these
parts about thirty-five years ago. He
however, visited his home townabout
sixteen years ago. Mr. Bissett is rn-
gaged in ranching in the West and
like many others of our boys has
pr.ospered, The Advocate acknowA

from Mr. and Miss Bissett

A • choir of female voices will sing,
'The Country Doctor," put on to
the Dame Theatre on Friday night
by the Hurondale Patriotic League;
under the auspices of the Exeter Pat-
riotic League,"was Liberally patroniz-
ed every chair in the hall being fill-
ed and standing troops was at a prem-
ium. The young people in charge of
the interesting drama are to be con-
gratulated on their efforts and for the
excellent manner in which they acq-
quitted themselves, demonstrating in
a marked degree the latent dramatic
talents they possess. "The Country
Doctor' with many bright and catchy
scenes affords considerable scope for
amateurs, but those; in charge on Fri-
day night did them ample justice, ev-
erybody in attendance being highly
pleased Mr. Willis Powell was -pres-
ent with "lir. Edison" and delighted
thr audience between acts. The pro-
ceeds amounted to $63.25.
