we had on July 1. We went over at
night time, 11 pan., and managed to
take the Bothe by surprise, and withs

we got three lines of trenches and
about ninety prisoners.

the raiding of the dugouts was least
profitable to all of us, All the znen

direction of finis now. I should im-

have a great deal to do with it. When
we had the news from the brigade we
immediately had a board painted up
in German, telling them of the news,
which they probably already knew.
However, it annoyed them, and they
proceeded to sling all the muck in the
district at it, from bombs to eight
inch howitzers, but still the board
stood firm. However, their snipers
got at it and before long it was per-
