Rev. hlenry Kenner, for 60 years
an, active Methodist minister, and who
many years ago preached for aeon-

Exeter, died at Victoria Hospital,Win

the ege of 80 years. Born, in Cornwall

years ;end then came to Ontario in
180. n a missionary. He went to the
West in 1882. Four sons survive.
A quiet wedding took place in Tor-
onto. on Monday last when 12x. Albin-
us E. Moore of Exeter was married to
i13iiss Ella Maude Heywood, eldest
daughter o+. iMr. and Mrs. Caleb Hey -
woad. The young couple were un-
attended, Mr. Moore has returned
home while Mrs. Moore is spending a
few is eeks at the home of Mr.
Moores mother in Drayton_ Mr. and
Mrs. Moore will have the best win-
es of their many friends here,
Mr,- Nelson Stanlake on Thursday
disposed of his 100 acre farm in, the
Township of Hay, situate on. the
Lake Road ,to Mr. Isaac Uunsfor,3 o;
the Township of Stephen, Mr. Stan-
lake.,

Rowe takes Mr. Stanlake's house in

session. will be given in the fall, when
Mr. Stanlake intends taking up ;arm-
ing ?'gain.

DEATH OF MRS. GOULD.— The
sad and unexpected death occurred
on Friday evening last at a private
hospital in. London of Jennie Rowe,
beloved wife of Mr. James Gould of
Exeter, aged 60 years, 1 month, 13
-lays. Mrs. Gould had been ill for a
year or more, and not iimproving she
was sent to London some months
ago; and reports stated that she was
improving gradually, so that when the
family received word on Thursday
that she was very low it was a great
shock to thein. Mr. Gould immediate
ly tventto the city, but she passed
away as stated. Born at Sharon, in
Stephen Township, Mrs. Gould .re-
siided in this neighborhood all her life.
She was a highly- esteemed woman,
kind and affectionate to husband and
family and to all with whom she
came in contact, and she `wits be
greatly massed by the family and all
her friends. The sympathy of the
edible community is felt for the hus-
band and two daughters, Misses Hee-
end Lela, and her brothers and
sisters of wham their' are ,eleven,-

ins, and ' a private _ funeral, was held on
Grand Bend Park Under
New Management.
After the 16th of June of this year
the Park at Grand Bend will beunder
new management. Grand Bend has
come to be acknowledged as one tof
the best health and "summer resorts
in Ontario. The new management has
fixed up the cottages and rooms,` and
invites all who contemplate a, few
weeks at the Lake side to Commun-
icate with him at Box 82, Exeter, un-
til the 16th June, after which he will
be at Grand Bend. The boarding
house will be run on the American
plan and the best cook procurable
will be in charge of the kitchen~

Wm. Morrish, might watchman of the
Doty Engine Works, Goderich, at
midnight one night last week saw two
men %ship into the shop, and he called
them to come out, when they opened
fire from revolvers at him. He re-
turned the fire but they escaped.

CREAMERY SOLD.—Mr. John
Scott, who has been conducting the
creamery here for a number of years
last week sold the business and prem-
ises to Mr. W. G. Medd, who co.u-
ducls the Winchelsea creamery. Mr.
Scott has not yet decided as to his
future plans, 'but we trust that he
and his worthy family will continue
to be residents of Exeter.
