HICKS' FORECASTS FOR MAY—
A regular storm period is central on
the 1st extending from April 28th to
May 3. Disturbing causes . and things
to expect. As explained in the Ap-
ril forecasts this storm ,period will be
in progress as we pass, from April in-
to gay, The barometer will reach its
lowesr readings, and the temperature
will be highest on and 'touching lst
and from .the 1st to the 3rd, inclus-
ive. storms of rain,, wind and thunder
will xeach their culminating stages.
It will be. well to anticipate some very
forceful if knot dangerous on and
abort ;.12onday the, lst to Wednesday
the ;3rd. No such s torms can be a
surprise to any careful observer of
local ,indication—the temperature
reading of. the barometer, wind cur-
rents. and cloud formations'. The
probabilities are that a rapid change to
:very cool will rush down, from the
northwest, with high barometer that
is sure,„:tofollow these storms,' Any
ordinary, painstaking to protect' ten-
der things from frost . from about the
2syd, to the 5th, might prove a pay-
ing precaution, notwithstanding the
fact that the moon is at its 'greatest
declination'°north on the 5th. There
are -other astronomic reasons why
some:. very •;cool nights might follow
the -new 'Moon 'disturbances at this•.

WHY YOU ARE NERVOUS
The nervous system is the alarm system
of the human body.
7n perfect health we hardly realize that
we haveea •network ofnerves, but when
he ltk)ia:ebbing, when strength isdeclin-
ing, wthe same nervous system gives the
ahem i"ia headaches, tiredness, dreamful
sleek,,prritability:and unless corrected,
leads straight to a breakdown.
• To correct nervousness, Scott's Emul-
sion is exactly what you should take; its
rich : nutriment: gets into the blood and
rich blood feeds the tiny nerve -cells while
the whole system responds to its refresh-
ing tonic force. Free from harmful drugs.
