of Ml. Carmel won the socks given
by Mrs W. White. The proceeds
amounted to over $50.00.

GRAND BEND
The patriotic dance given by the
young ladies of Grand Bend and vic-
inity on Firday evening last was a do-
cided success both from asocial and
financial standpoint, The proceeds
amounted to nearly '170. Brenner's
Hall and the music were, given free of
charge. To these much thanks are
due, As this is the first attempt the
rOnweglides' have made to raise
money thi. way they are to be heart-
ily congratulated upon the success of
the affair, and we hope to hear ;rote
thea: again before the winter is ever,

BIDDULPH—Mrs. Ellen McDonald,
widow of Jeremiah McDonald, died at
St Joseph's Hospital, London, on
Sunday Mrs. McDonald was for
many years a resident of Biddulph
Township. Her husband died three
years ago. The funeral was held from.
the Romai, Catholic Church at Luc3n
on Tuesday morning.
