BROKE HIS LEG—Mr. Thos. Johns
employe of Messrs. gestic', Rowe &
Wood met with an unfortunate
and painful accident on Wednesday
of last week. He was about ,to ascend
to the top of the oil tank wagon
when in some way he slippedi and fell
with the result that he ,brake the
large hone in his leg between the
knee and ankle. The fracture was
immediately adjusted, but it will tae
some time before he will have the use
of the injured limb.

I 0 0..F. GRAND LODGE.—The
Grand Lodge of Oddfellowrs met in
Stratford last week with 800 repres-
entatives in attendance. Reports
showed the membership to be in-
creasing in spite of the war; and
that $8,000 a year was being ex-
pended to pay dues of Oddfellows
at the front. It was decided that
the grand lodge officers receive the
same salaries as last year; and that
district meetings be not later than the
second week in September. Grand
Lodge will meet next year :n Chat-
ham The following officers were
elected,—Grand Master, L. B. Cooper
of Belleville; deputy grand waster,
S C Parks of Toronto; grand war-
den Chas. H, Mann of Hamilton ;
grand secretary, W. Brooks of el'oron-

ford before coming here, and return-
ed on Tuesday to Toronto. Mrs.
Crocker is remaining a few weeks.
