AILSE CRAIG WINS PENNANT.
The final game of baseball in the
South Huron League was played here
betweer Exeter and Ailsa Craig an
Friday afternoon, resulting in favor
of Ailsa Craig by a score! of 3 to 0.
The game was a good one and well
worth seeing, although the Exeter
people would have liked to have eecn
the resul otherwise. However, there
is no doubt the best' team won. Er-
ror.; were not numerous and'. some
very : pretty work waa dobe, but the
locals' lacked in three essentials, the
chief of which was batting, Ind the
others' sliding and "getting away" to
first Their pitching, in and .out ;field
Ing .and throwing was equal to 'heir.
opponents, Reg, Bissett pitched a
very steady game.
Although the pennant does not
come to Exeter the baseball: club can
feel well satisfied with the showing
this year, and the spectators may 'eel
pleased with the class of baseball that
they have seen this year, it without
doubt being the .best in several sum-
men
