By some mischance something went
wrong with the erigine in Blyth saw-
mill an May 8th, and before any of
the men could get to it the cylinder
was broken all to pieces. The engine
is a wreck. The cause is a mystery

DEATH OF WILLIAM HORTON.

by. relatives al the death-of'Mr. Wil-
liam Hor.ton, who died suddenly near
Brooks Alta„ on Sunday last, at tbout
67 years of age. The deceased was,
a native of Usborne and had spent
nearly all hie life there, being one
of the best-known and most rijghly
esteemed residents of the township,
and his death will be learned with,.
deep and profound'regret by a 'arge
edrele of friends. The deceased left
Usborne about seven years ago fox
the•' West and has since resided there
Besides the sorrowing widow, he is
survived by three saes and three
daughters, the widow and two sobs
residing in the West and Miss Maud

There died at his home, Exeter North
on Saturclar last, another of Exeter's
oldest and most respected residents
in the person of Mr. Alfred Attire
The deceased had retained his rr.sual
health until 'at few months ago, when.
the infirmities of old age began to
make inroads on his once rugged :on-
stitution and the end carne gradually

ago He has been a resident for aver

a member of the English Chetah and
in politics was a Conservative,He
was a man noted for his strict in-
