HICKS' MARCH FORECASTS,-
A Reactionary Storm Period is cen-
tral an the 4th, 5th, and 6th. The
regular storm period, however, cen-
tral on February 27th reaches at, least
two days into March, and storms of
rain, wind and snow will be passing
central to western st ctions of - the'
country up to the Znd. A change to
much colder, rising barometer, and
and clearing weather will follow these.
storms reaching the Atlantic sea-
board about the 3rd and 4th. On and
touching- the 4th, 5th, and 6th, Beast
ionary disturbances will devolop and
run their course over the country
from west to east. Behind the storms
of .rain and snow about the 4th, 5th
and 6th look for rising baromiter
clearing weather and much colder for
three or four days. e
HOW TO SECURE FARM HELP.
—Farmers in this district who wish
to secure help for the'com6n 'sea:.
son. should communicate with C
San.ders, Exeter, Ont., stating' their
requirments, and Mr. Sanders, whois.
a Dominion immigration agent, will'en-
deavor to gecure a suitable person for
each applicant. It would be Well if
farmers could see their way clear to
keep their help the year round. Many
good men, will not come tothis coun-
try unless assured of a position for
winter as well aa for summer, and it
is much easier to secure good men for
the farmers who offer a 'twelve -man
the contract. It shoat], be to the ad-
vantage of the farmer too, it he gets
a good mag, to keen him yea: after
year Instea:1 of changing him each
season and running the risk of getting
inferior service. Giving a good man a
permanent job is the best guarantee
of continued good service. If a :nar-
ried couple is required, the provision
of a house, with a small plot of land
for garden purposes, is the most sat-
isfactory method.
