Miss Zillah English visited -friends
in Exeter last week. -Rev, R. L. and
Mrs. Wilson of ICerwood spent a
couple days here with friends and at-
tended the Steeper -Hutchinson wed-
ding -Kr. and Mrs. C. M. Wilson of
Sarnia and ,Mr, and Mrs. John
son of Arkona,, who were guests at
the above , mentioned wedding zalled
on friends Herz. Mrs. A. M, Wilson
is visiting the W. M. S. societies at
Hensalt and Exeter this week, -The
Mission Band concert on Friday ;right.

Miss Reddy spent the week end at
her home in St. Marys. -Winter had
set in early with a severe snow storm,
=Little Miss Margaret Steeper had an
operation on her throat last Thursday.
CENTRALIA.
The raging snow Corm which; drop. -
ped' in on us Sunday last was- quite
unexpected and many farmers have
not got their turnips up yet. There
'is also much of the plowing still to -
be 'lone. We .are, however,, hoping
to ibie savored with some more fine
•weather to enable the farmers to com-
plete their work. Some who were
out driving on Sunday afternoon re-
port it the worst they ever exper-
ienced,. No service was held en Sun-
day evening, as only two, or three
ventured out.
Mr. and Mrs. D. Coughlin and son
Adrain arrived home from a two anon-
. ths', trip to the West on Tuesday
.morning, They report having had a
tint: trip and went as far west as
Calgary.

through on Monday owing to the roads
being blocked with snow. The little
gray will have to be traded for a
larger one or we will often be short
of mail.' -We are pleased to hear that
Mrs. Robert Wood is on the mend
and her daughter Mrs. McLaughlin of
Walton was able to _return home on
Monday -Mrs Rich. Down, of Strath-
roy is at home waiting, an her mother

HENSALL
As Thos. Hudson was standing on a
scaffold doing some fixing, in Urqu-
-harts oatmeat mill last week the scaf-
fold gave way and to savehimself he
jumped back alighting in the shoot
which runs to within 10 feet of the
lower floor. Like an arrow he shot
down the 20 feet shoot and then took
a drop of 10 feet to the floor, One leg
was badly scratched and one arm so
injured that it is swollen nearly twice
its normal size. -Mrs. Consitt and
sons William and John were in Lon-
don. Mrs. Consitt has suffer severely
from chronic neuralgia and may have
to go to Boston for an operation. -The
Misses. Slaven of Chiselhnrst have
purchased the residence owned and
occupied by the late Ms's, Chapman
and intend moving, into it shortly.
Mrs. Oalwell went to London last
to a hospital and may undergo an
operation to relieve pressure on the
brain. -Dennis Brintnell of Vander-
bilt is home visiting his parents after
an absence of three years.

bride's parents Blanch Estella Armi-
tage was united in holy matrimony to
Melvin B. Potter of McGillivray by
Rev. Wm Lowe. The bride was given
away by herfather, Mr. Michael Armi-
tage and was dressed in white. satin
wearing a veil she was attended by

has sold his farm in Biddulph and in-

SEAFORTH-Mr. Henry Brewer
one of the pioneer residents of Sea -
forth passed peacefully away at the
home of his sister Mrs. Robert Willis
on Tuesday. On Wednesday evening
previous as he was returning home
having gone down town for the paper
he suffered a serious attack of paral-
ysis and had to be assisted home. Mr.
Brewer had reached the good old age
of SO years.
CLINTON-A quiet marriage was
celebrated at the home of Rev W, W.
Wylie Baptist Pastor on the evening
of Wednesday Nov. 5th, The bride-
groom was Mr. William Gov Jones
and the bride Miss Annie i le king.
They were unattended.
