.Another of the pioneers of this
district' has passed from this. life. Mr
Wtu Bell passed away at his home
he on April 26th. Mr, Bell had
reached the good age of ninety years
,and eight months. He .had: been ill'
several weeks, bronchitis being the
principal trouble, but ^ he had been
failing r
ar K for the past Year
Mr Bell was the eldest son' of the
lateRobert Bell and was anative of
Perthshire, Scotland. With his
father .and other rnelnbers of the
family, he came to Canada in Sept-
ember. 1836, settling on the London
Road Tuckersinith, The deceased re
sided on the London Road, south of
thi.t place, runtit moving to Hensall
about twenty years ago. Mrs, Bell
predeceased him twelve years. Wm,
Bell is survived by four s ons and
five daughters, all of whom were
privileged to see him during his
last illness
The Hensel' Gun Club will hold
its annual shooting tournament on
May 24th, -Robert Dowie left last

ents'' Tuckersmith; last week, Leslie
Benjamin, only son 'of Mr. and Mrs.

Toronto last week. -Mrs. Geo. Cam-

the dwelling he recently acquired

to ' record the death of George
Campbell the youngest son of the
third concession of the township of
Stanley at the early age of 32 yrs
1-Ic' taught school for some time in
Huron. He gave up teaching and
went to Edmonton Alberta, where he
was employed as bookkeeper. Three
years ago he married Miss E. Sch-
nell of Hay Township and returfred
to Edmonton his adopted home. Not
being in robust health he came
east to seek medical aid. For over
two months he was under the care
and treatment of Dr. Hagerty of De-
troit He seemed to be improving an
der the doctor's treatment, but on
24th April he was taken to • Grace
Hospital. Here in spite - of every
care and 'attention, he died • on
Saturday April 26th, The remains were
brought to Clinton.

Mr Alex. Fraser lost a valuable cow
and steer recently. They were ried

and died, and in falling it caught the
chain to which the steer was attach-
