The Canadi-art: Jubilee Singers drew a
large crowd; to James Street church on
Wednesday evcnhlg last, and on the
whole it was a well satisfied crowd.
'Many numbers on the program are do
serving of the highest praise, while a.
little was hardly up to expectation; but
Such a thing however, is to be. expect-
ed. It is scarcely possible that every-
body should be pleased+w,t,h everything.
The programwas a very varied one,
and consisted of chordees, soles, duets
readings and smart sayings.
Rev. Il. Locke of Toronto, a former
pastor, preached morning and evening'
of Sunday last Ln the Marin Street Meth -
oast church; his sermons being direct-
ed particularly to Ole young people. Very
large crowds attended and the services
were very bricht and, i.nieresting. A
mass meeting was also held in the af-
ternoon. An interesting feature was
tbe s!nl Ing of the Ramie Ladies Quar-
tette of Zurcb'hr, w,bjch was much apprec-
ia'ted.,, Rev. Locke's sermons were force-
ful and instructive and should have
good results. .. !:
