Tine exportation, of pulp wiood lint a raw
form tram Canada into tT.ndted States
Is dticreaaentr yearly, and: by Just so
muth as this is' so "does Qanada lose
the benefits to be, derived front maaiufac
ture'and the increased value of raw pro-
ducts. Statistics show that over a mill-
ion and ,a lxalftcords of pulpwood were
cut in Canada during 1010, wotdit near-
ly $9,800,000,00, Over GO per 'cent: of
this ttmoullt was " sent out of Canada
without further labor being spent volt
Canada did not get one half the amount
she would have received if all pulpwood
were converted !into pulp on Canadian
soil. As the United States does not'er-
port two per cent. of what it ianports
a certain and steady market would 'be
found for all the wood pulp of Canadian
production.
EX -REEVE HENRY WILLERT
ELECTED REEVE OF' STEPHEN
BY ACCLAMATION
TION
At the nomfna'tlon meeting held in the
Town Hall, Crediton, on Monday last,
for the nomination Of a reeve for the
the township to complete the unex-
pired, term of the late Reeve, Mr, Samuel
.SWeitzer, two n.amdnations were made
those of Mr. Henry Willert, ex -Reeve,
and Mr, William Anderson, ex -Deputy
Reeve. The latter however resigned
and Mr. Willert was declared elected.
This looks like a graceful act on. the
part -,of the people of Stephen ;wtl n{ it
is considered that Mr. Willert and Mr:
Sweitzer were told .,pponetts and the
former declined to contest an election
against Mr. Sweitzer in January of the
present year.:
