The accident occurred near the
scene of the wreck of the Great

spatched the cruisers Azo and Soya,
of the Japanese training squadron,
to the assistance of the distressed

sengers to the mainland. The pas-
sengers were temporarily housed
in temples and a :school building,
and later proceeded b, train to
this city.
