DIED IN DETROIT -It was sad news
to mains hereto learn lof they ,death of
MIss Sadie Hawkshaw daughter of Mr.
John Hawkshaw our esteemed towns-
man which sad event itoolc place In De-
troit on Thursday morning last, after
a comparatively short illness, and foll-
owing an operatgo3 for on internal ail-
ment. AMIss Hawkshaw some months
ago had suffered from a severe attack
of typhoid fever, ,but Iliad fully recover-
ed from the effects of the attack and
was enjoying good health until a Sew
weeks ago when she was again taken
down from the; effect's of an internal
growth. The best physicians were sou-
ght and ` an operation was deemed ad.

and a Short time after the operation
had been pref armed she passed away -
