Stephen Council met as a Court of
Revili.I1 to hear the appeals re Mud
Creek Drain, in Town Hall, Crediton,
Monday, March 5, at 10 a.m. After
peach member of the Council had taken
the necessary oath, they took the
sworn evidence of all persons present,
'who appealed against theirassessment.
'The :following; changes in the Engi-
neei's; report. as to allowances and
.compensation to be paid were made,
viz: The assessment:on Lot 19, Con.
10, for allowance was divided into
three parts, viz: W., 62 acres to be al-
lowed $65.10t S. E. 20 acres to be al-
lowed $21; N.E., 18 acres to be allowed
$18.90. The following changes were
ruade:

Court.then adjourned to meet again
in Town Hall, Crediton, Saturday,
March 17, at 1 o'clock. After Court
of Revision had adjourned. Council

meeting read and adopted. Finkbein
•ere -Yearley -that the Auditors' re-
ceived. -Carried. A petition was pre-
sented to the Council, praying that
Pablie :School Section No. 1 be divided
tlnto two 'sections. The Council in
stnueted:the clerk to mail each of the
trustees of the present S.S. No. 1 a
registered letter, notifying them that
the By -Law dividing this section would
be considered on Monday, April 2nd,
at 10 non. and that the Council would
be prepared to receive any objections
to the passing of such By -Law from
the ,panties interested. And further
that a.notice to that effect he inserted
in the Exeter Times and Exeter Ad.
vocate. Anderson -'Webb -That By -
Laws Nos. 5 and 6 o 1906, having been
read a third time, be passed and sign-
ed';by the Reeve and Clerk and the seal
of'tlze'Corporation attached thereto. -
Carried. W. D. Sanders and John
Brown were re -appointed Drainage
Viewers. Resolved that Pathmasters,
Poundkeepers and Fence Viewers for
the present year, be appointed on 2nd
April next. The following orders were
passed: ' Young Bros., account $8.05;
H. F. Silber,` expenses for removing
F. Wein:to House of Refuge. $5.65; J.
Wein. rep. Aux Sauble bridge, $4.25;
F.'Haist, do.. $2; W. Anderson rep.
Essery bridge, $5; J. Greb, work on

Goshen Line Stephen
(Intended for last week.) [,
SROOTINC+• MATCH AND OYSTER, SUP-
PER. -The Zurich Gun Club and an
aggregation of the Goshen Line boys,.
levelled guns in a friendly shoot Tues-
day last on Mr. Peter Krafts farm, the
object being to shoot for an oyster sure -
per. There was some good shooting
done 'On both sides but the Stephen
boys came out victorious. Following is
the score: -Stephen -Yearley 7, F.
Snell 9, G. Mawhinney 5, Louis Kraft
5, W. Mawhinney 8, R. Mawhinney 8,
R. Sheardown 6, T. Mawhinney 6, G.
Hirtzel 5, Total 66. Zurich -A. Mittle-

ney 2, W. •O'Brien 4. Total 45. Mrs.
Kraft held a quilting bee the same day
and quite a number of the good ladies
of the neighborhood gathered to do
duty. They succeeded in taking off
two quilts. In the evening a very en-
joyable time was spent by all present
in games, and dancing until midnight,
when the oysters were served and then
all departed for their respective home
feeling that all had enjoyed a good
time. •
St. Marys: The drug business p, f F.
G. Sanderson has been purchased by
Messrs. Frank H. Smith & Co. Mr.
Smith comes from Markham.,
St. Marys: George Hutchings, who
has been a resident of St. Marys for
nearly half a century, died at bis home,
Sunday, Feb. 25, aged 74 years.
