The Methodists held their anniversary
services on Dec.6-7. Excellent sermons
were delivered by Rev. Dr. 'Conk. of
Clinton, nn Sunday morning and even-
ing. On Monday evening a fowl sup-
per was served in the Temperance hall,
the propram being given in the Meth-
odist church;
ethodist'church; as this church was pack-
ed to the doors, they had to open the
Presbyterian church, which was also
packed. John Sherritt,M.P. occupied
the chair for the evening. The Ontar-
io street choir, Clinton, was present,
and did excellent work, The proceeds
amounted to nearly $114.
WEDDING.—The residence of Mr.
Joseph Foster was the scene of an in
terestiug and pretty event on Wednes
day, Dec. 9, when his third daughter,
Miss Lizzie, became the happy bride -of
Mr. lYn . Dowson, a well-known and
