The many friends of Mrs. Manning,
who recently left here for medical
treatment at Guelph, will learn with
regret that she is in a, very low condi-
bon. The St. Marys Journal of last,
week contained the following: -"Mrs.
William Hanson, of Fullerton, receiv-
ed a telegram yesterday sta.tin_g that
her sister, Mrs. Manning, of Exeter,
was dying at Guelph, where she had
gone for medical treatment. Mrs.
Hanson and her daughter, Mrs. John
Barr, have gone to Guelph in response
to the message."

ed in the dog poisoning case of J. T.
Westcott et al v. Geo. 0'1(111)41re
which came up for preliminary hear.

Oyeter Supper
On Tuesday evening last about fifty
friends gathered et the Mansion House
in response to special invitatiou sent
out by the genial proprietor, Mr. Cam-
ninghion. Oysters were served about
nine o'elock, followed by other choice
delicacies. Justice being done to the
physical wants the intellectual and
social function followed. Mr. N. D.
Hurdon -filled the chair and proposing
a few timely toasts they were ably re-
sponded to by the guests. The gather-
ing broke upat a reasonable hour after

Married at Zurich.
The residence of Mr. and Mrs. G.
Holtzman, Zurich, was the scene of a
very pretty wedding on Wednesday
evening,Ja.n.15, when their onlidaugh-
ter, Maggie, was united in marriage to
Mr. J. B. Dennis, of Woodham, son of
Mr. Janes Dennis, of this place. The
ceremony was performed by the btide's
uncle Rev. H. J. Holtzman, assisted
by Rev. C. S. Finkbeiner, of Zurieb,
and the wedding march was played by
Mrs. Shortt, of Hensall. The bride
looked charming in a gown of white
organdie, and silk veil, and carried a
boquet of white carnations. The
bridesmaid was Mise Lottie Dennis,sis-
ter of the groom,and looked very pret-
ty in it white organdie dress. Mr.Sani.
Faust ably supported the groom. The
bride was given away by her father.„
The ceremony was performed at 5.15
o'clock, and was witnessed by over a
hundred relatives and friends of the
contracting parties. After the cere-
mony and congratulations Were over;
the guests repaired to the dining room
where a splendid wedding supper had
been prepared. the tables being laden
with every delicacy that could be
wished for. The presents were num-
erous, costly and of a serviceable char-
acter. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis have tak-
en up their residence ,in Woodham,
where Mr. Dennis is conducting a boot
and shoe business.
