Paris,,Nov. 4. -In the French Cham-

leave to interpellate the Governnient re-

take in accord 'with other 'Govern-
ments to call upoP. the British Gov-

dren in the South African concentration
camps, -to healthful districts.
mL Deschanel, President of the Cham-
ber, remarked thateit would be difileult
to interpellate the French lGovernment

After a brief discussion, during
which M. Ilrillevoye was called to order
for speaking of Mr., Chamberlain, the
British. Colonial Secretary, as a coward

British. Royal Commission Will Ex-
periment on Unhealthy
Chicago, Nov. 5.-A despatch to The
Record -Herald from London says that
scientists and agriculturists interested
in Dr. Koch's tuberculosis'theory ex-
pect that the tra, nsmissibllity or non -
transmissibility of bovine tuberculosis
to human beings will he absolutely
solved within a year. The royal com-
mission on tuberculosis has begun ex-
periments on a farm provided by the
Government.. It is understood thht-ri•te,
special feature of .the experiment 'veill•
be tests made with diseased animals. -
Professor Edmund Symes Thompson,
F.R.C.P., con.sulting physician of
the Hospital for COnsumption at
Brompton, who is considered the high-
est British authority an tuberculosis,
points out that experience has proved
that healthy persons constantly escape
contagion to which the weak and dis-
eased speedily succumb. He says that
hitherto attetnpts to transmit human
tubercle to coyrs and oxen have been
confined to healthy animals. This, he
asserts, is unsatisfactory. The cows
selected 'should be. in poor condition in
order to obtain more convincing evi-
dence..
English scientists are alive to the
importance of the subject and are spar-
ing no effort to reach the truth by in-
dependent investigation. So far as
these investig•atioes have gone they
have terided to show that Dr. Koch has
been guilty of hasty decluetions and
neglectful of essential conditions in his
experiments.

Dark Hair
' "
_ I have used Ayer's Hair'Vigor
for a great many years, and al-
though I am past eighty years of
age'yet I have not a gray hair ili
my head."
Geo. Yellott, Towson, Md.
We mean all that rich,
..dark color your hair used
to have. If it's gray now,
no matter; for Ayer's
Hair ,Vigor always re-
stores color to gray hair.
Sometimes it makes the
hair grow very heavy and
long; and it stops falling
of the hair, too.

Paines 'Celery Compound
Cures and Gives You New Life When
Everything Else Fails.
IT IS THE POPULAR. MEDICINE
,IN THE HOMES OF THE
WEALTHY AND THOSE
HUMBLER CIR-
CTJAISTANCES.
Beware of Substitutes and Imi-
tations.
Are you ailing, or rundown, or suf-
fering from some pangerous disease?
If you are, allow us with caaidour and
an honest interest in your welfare, to
dihest your attention to Paine's Celery
Compound, the medicine that "makes
sick people well." •
The wonderful record of cures
wrought fol.', sick and diseased people
in our Dorninion, is the best and
strongest proof of the health -re -stor-
ing virtues ot Paine's -Celery Com-
pound. It has cured the most desper-
ate a,nd obstinate cases of disease even
after sufferers wore pronounced incur-
able.
The use of one bottle of Paine's Cel-
ery Compound will, in all cases banish
the doubts of the unbelieving. The
testing of one bottle will prove to all
sufferers that there are virtues in the
wonderons medtcine possessed by no
other remedy--viatues that banishes
snffering and misery.
The immense popularity of Paine's
Celery Compound has induced un-
scrupulous people to put up vile and
worthless imitations of the great
health -restorer. Dishonest dealers for
the sake of large profits resor to subti-
tuting and reconwiending the "some-
thing just as good." At all times be-
ware of imitations and substitutes.
Sea that the name PAINE'S and the
Stalk of Celery appear on each bottle.
Read the strong testimony of Mr. G.
W. Parks, of Inglisville, N. S., cured
by Paine'sReleryComsound after fail-
ures with other medicines:
"While at sea I was taken sick,
whieh compelled me to abandone my
work and seek home and rest. I con-
sulted the doctors who, pronounced it
slow fever or typboid 1 suffered se-
verely front night sweats, and from
cold chills during the day. Added to
this, T was extremely nervous, which
weakened me and reduced my flesh
until L was a mere skeleton. This con-
tinued till last winter,'when my wife
and frimids begiun to despair of Cily re-
covery, as the medicines 1 took pro-
duced no good, and 1 was growing
woPse. Through the influence of Rev.
C. M. Tyler l'was induced to give
Paine's Celery Compound a trial. T
00111 tc1y say it worked. wendeps. The
first bottle g.lve me relief, and five
bottles completely cured me."
