of THFI, ONTARIO VOTERSLIST ACT, the
copies reiluired by said sections to be so transmitted
or delivered of the List made pursuant to said Act,
of all persons appearing by the last revised .Assess-
ment Roll of the said Municipality, at Elections for
Members of the Legislative Assembly and at Munici-
pal Elections, and that the said List was first posted
at my office at Crediton, on the Twenty-seventh day
of June, 1901, and remains, there for inspection.
Electors are called upon to examine the said List and

Council met on. Monday, the 2nd
inst. as a court of 'Revision on the
assessment of by-law No. 7, 1901, for
drainage. There wore several appeals
against the assessment of the engin-
eer, After due consideration' the as-,
sessment of $1.50 on S.pt., lot 27,con.9,
was struck off and the amount to the
amount added to the assessment of
the road. The court of Revision was
closed, the council resumed. The fol-
lowing amounts were ordered ' to be

Mr. J. W. Reedes ancl brother, after
spending a pleasant week at the Bend,
returned to their home in London. -
Mr. G. Trott, photograpUer of Hensall,
is again in his old stand on Spackman's
park. All wishing work done in this
line should give him a call. -Those
who attended the 12th in Stratford
from this place all report a good time.
-We hear that a small excursion
boat will be here this season. It will
no doubt do well. -By what we here
the cottages will all befilled next week,
This will make things more lively. -
Mr. Elsie has moved his merry-go-
round from here to Dashwood. -Quite
a number of sturgeons have been
caught this last few days. -Mr, J.
Luther is all smiles this week -its a

A very pretty wedding took place
at St. John's church, here, at high
noon on Wednesday, July- 3rd, when,
Miss Annie Beattie, eldest daughter of
Mrs, Geo. Beatty, was united in mar-
riage to Mr.,Wm. Woods,- of Listowel.
The &;reniony was performed.by Rev.
E. jentiings. When the, strains of the
wedding march pealed forth, the bride
entered the church leaning on the arm
of her brother, Mie Geo. Beatty. She
was attired in a dress of white 'silk
crepe de chene, veil and ora.nge blos-
soms, and carried a bouquet of cream
roses. The bridesnmid was Miss Hattie
Woods, sister of the groom. Mr. Wm.
Beatty, brother of the bride,supported
the groom. The groom's gift to the
bride was a gold star and crescent
brooch set With pearles. His gift to
the bridesmaid and organist was a
beautiful pin set with pearls. The
church was beautifnlly decorated with
ferns and flowers. ,The ceremony over,
the bridal party and about 50 invited
guests repaired to the home of the
bride's Mother and partook of a sump-
tuous dinner. The bride received many
handsome presents. Mr. and Mrs.
Woods took: the evening train from
Brucefield for Brantford, where they
will spend a few days before returning
to Listowel to reside. Mr. and Mrs.
„Woodehave the best wishes of a large
circle of friends.

The weather has been very warm
and dry and now every one is ready
to saY, welcome rain, welcome raffia --
Earl -tiers are busy with their wheat
harvest. Some of them are almost
through. . They report a very heavy
crop, the best crop they have realized
for slime time. Crops in general are
very good. -Miss Livens, a former
public school teacher, was renewing
friendship last week. -The attendance
church hist Sunday was small, ow-
ing to the warm weather. Those who
were not out missed two excellent

Atkinson was largely attended, not-
withstanding thabusy time.
'DEATH or MRS. A.TICINSON.-It 15
01.1r solemn duty again this week to
record the death of Mrs. John Atkin-
son, of this villitp;e, and mother of the
late Jas. Atkinson whose death we re-
corded last week, she 'haying, died on
Tuesday, after a short illness from
bronchial trouble, This is the se-
cond death and funeral in the home
hi the home in less than One week.
She Was 63 years of age, and witS' nitieh
respected. The flmeral took place tO
the St. James cemetery yesterday
(Wednesday.) May the God of all
grace and all consolation ever be with
those who are left behind.

busily engaged cutting their fall wheat
and barley which is a rather light crop
owning to the extremely dry weather.
-Flax pulling and berry picking is
now the order of the day.=Some of
our sports took in the races at Seaforth
last Week and report, having had a
good time. --Mr. Bearette, who has
been visiting his family in Chicago
during the past four weeks, has re-
tnrned. He purposes bringing his
family here to reside. ---Mr. Ba- S.
O'Neil and family, of Exeter, paid our
burgh a pleasant visit, on Sunday. --Mr,
J. Smith, of Brewster, was the guest
of his brother-in-law on Saturday even-
ing ancl Sunday -Messrs. P. Beaver
and J. Overholt have taken the con-
tract of cutting twelve acres of fall
wheat with the cradle, from :Mr. Ezra
Karacher, of the 11 concession. This
is the way -our fathers. used. to cut
their harvests in times past, hut it is
the only way this couldbecut as it is
new land and full of stumps.

Diebold Stahl is on the sick list. -The
Misses Ina and Lula Bice, and :Master
Ernal Bice, of Clandeboye; were in the
villitge last Friday visiting friends.
Mr. Jacob Ratz, of New Hamburg,
was the guest 'of Mr. Chas. ZWicker on
Monday. AIr. Henry Eilber attended
the Insurance Meeting in Zurich last

valuable horse last week. It ran

• breast, killing it almost instantly,'

Wingham: Elmer Moore carries his
arm in a sling, the result of an acci-
dent on Wednesday. The piece of
wood he Wie cutting in the 'factory
slipped, throwing his hand against the
saw, ripping the thumb right down.
Winghana: There died at her home
on Sunday morning, Alice Ludlow, be-
loved wife of Mr. Halsey Park,aged 18
years, 3 months. Deceased had been
seriously ill for a number of weeks,
and had not been in the hest of health
for over a year. She had been suffer-
ing from la u hem ia.
Zurich: Mr. Dietrich Stahl broke
his leg on Sunday. Dietrich has been
very.unluck-y this spring, as only a
month or Sc ago he met with an accia
dent at a barn raising which laid, him
up for several weeks and this last acci-
dent will likely keep him from work
the rest of the summer.
SrmShine: The fine new barn be-
longing to Wm. Fletcher, near here,
was completely demolished by Friday
night's storm together with the new-
ly erected brick foundation which'Was
smashed to the ground and in the
morning all appeared an utter wreck.
Mr.Fletcher will counnence to rebuild
at once. Mr. Jas. Garner had his silo
blown to pieces besides other minor
damages being done.
Whigham: On Friday the death
occured at the"hothe of 'Mr. and Mrs,'
3. E. Swarts, of DiagOnial street, of
their niece Miss Grace Wade, young-
est daughter of the late Walter Wade
formerly of Clinton. The deceased
young lady vvas in her 22nd 'year ,and
had been in failing health for over a
Year. She was a young lady who had
made many friends during the10 years
she had been a resident of Wingbarn,
Clinton: While Mr. Ed; Carter,
Miss Carter and 131abor,„ visitor from
Toronto, were out driving in the coun-
try some Miles distant froni town on
Monday, the tiers° ran away and bad-
ly Wrecked the buggy. The three oe-
cupanty were thrown out violently
and stistained,many bruises from the
effects of which they will suffer .for
some days. Mrs. Carter was most un-
fortimatereceiying in addition- to oth-
erInjuries a blaek eye.
