One great advantage in 'using Dix

Nota :rations.
The Nomination Meeting for the
nomination of Reeve, Councillors and
School trustees, was held in the Town
Hall, on Friday night. The hall was
filled to its utmost capacity, thus man-
ifesting an interest such. as should be
in. all well regulated towns. At 7.:10
the Returning Officer, Mr. George
Bissett, called for nominations, when
the following' gentlemen were 'duly
proposed, viz: -
Fon REEVi-E. Spackman, T. B.
Carling, W. G. Bissett, L. H. Dickson,
J. N. Taylor, Wm. Bawden and Dr.
Lutz.
ConNCILLOE5 John Muir, John
Wood, E. S. Howard,' C. H. Sanders,
I. Armstrong, W. Harding, John
Evans, Alex. Dew, W. H. Levett and
Chas. Rowe.
Sonoma TRUSTEES -H. E. Huston,
P. Frayne, W. J. Carling.
The hour for nominations having
elapsed, Mr. Bissett was asked to re -
some the chair by a unanimous show-
ing of hands. After the rneetin,g had
been called to order it 'was moved,
seconded and adopted that the speak-
ers be allowed only ten minutes in
which to air their views, with the ex-
ception of the Reeve, who would be
allowed ten minntes in which to reply.
The retiring Reeve, Mr. H. Spackman,
gave a most creditable account of his
stewardship and dealt with the finae-
Mal questions in a most clear and com-
prehensive manner, and as Councillor
Taylor said, so fully had he covered
the grotmd that there' was but little
material for hint and the other Coun-
cillors on which to speak. How-
ever, the 'other members of the old
Council had their little say,.with the
exception of Bir. Evans, who ' was
absent, followed by the other nomi-
nees present. After a vote of thanks
to the Chairman, the meeting closed.
Since the Nominations several have
resigned, leaving now in the field -the
following candidates:
REEvla.-W. G. Bissett and Jelin
Taylor.
Counrcxnxons.-John .Muir, John
Wood, E S. Howard, I: Armstrong,
John Evans and W. H. Levett.
Being only three . nominations the
trustees were elected by acclamation
