The entertainment held on Wednes-

School House, was, in every sense of
the tern:, a decided success. The
weather was all that could be desired
and the building was crowded to al-
most suffocatioe. The trustees and
Mr. McDougall, the popular teacher,
have every reason to feel proud of the
result. The program was am excellent
one and Mr. Boyd, teacher, from
Exeter, who aoted as chairman, saw
that it was well carried out. The
songs, recitations and dialogues ren-
dered by the pupils reflect great credit
not only by the children, but also the
teacher and were highly appreciated
as raanisfested by the hearty applause
given. The character songs of Mr.
cLeod, of Seaforth, completely set
the house wild with enthusiasm and
laughter and was obliged to answer to
several enc.:ores.A very enjoyable
part of the program' was the violin se-
lections by Mr. D. McDougall, of Staff,
accompanied by Mrs. McDougall, his
wife, on the organ, so delighted was
the audience that rapturous encores
followred. Although only a small fee
