Winnipeg, Dec. 12.—There are no further Changes to report in the re- turns from the Manitoba elections. A report that a ballot -beta was zaiss- ing in Springfield is unfounded. as the returning officer arrived at Sel- kirk last evening, and his return does not affect the result in that constituency. Hugh John Macdonald and a number of followers leave for Dauphin today to take part in the elections contest there. Voting takes place on Friday. and it will be a close fight. Polling in Gitnli is fixed for Thursday. The Legislature, On the advice of his Ministers His Honor the Lieutenant -Governor has been pleased to further prorogue the Manitoba Legislature to January 25th. By that time the results of the general elections will probably be fully known. brews Notes. Frederick' Scheet, a prosperous German settler of the Edmonton distract, committed suicide by hang, Mg.
