Philadelphia, Nov. 28.—The .Even- ing Bulletin yesterday published the following : "The colossal plan. to control all of the independent tele- phone companies in the United States, and to combine therewith the great telegraph companies and the five Atlantic cable contpanies,for which purpose the Telephone, Tele- graph & Cable Company of America was incorporated Nov, 9, with a capital of $30,000,000, received a severe blow to day, the effect of which may be far-reaching. This was none other than the \\ ithclrawal from the scheme of William C. Whitney, Thomas F. Ryan, Anthony N. Brady, William L. Elkins, P. A. H.
