They Are Incident Upon the Inauguration
of the New Order,
Clark had his neighbor, named Bell be
fore Squires Smillie and Urquhart tie a
charge of assault, resulting in grey

showed that a quarrel took place over
a money transaction, when Bell, who is
a. big fellow, pounced onto Clark, who
is a feather weight, and used him np
badly. The Magistrates made Bell
put up $25, which covers fine, costs and
damage to Clark.

the cutter upset and the child who was
caught in the arm of it, was dragged

Mirchell: Some four years ago
Robert Dawson, of Seaforth married a
daughter of Peter Nelmns, Logan.
A year ago last,September W. Nelms,
an old bachelor, gave his fifty acre
farm to Mrs. Dawson, she to maintain
him during his lifet ime. Before many
weeks had gone by the property was
mortgaged for $400, and later, another
$1,000 was added:' Then it was sold
outright for $800, over and above the
martgages, 9100 being paid down to
bind the bargain. On Wednesday the
deed was drawn and forwarded to
Stratford for registration, but Mr.
Nelmns interfered, through his lawyer,
and bad the registration stayed, and
an agreement was reached that the
old man is to get the money, which
will reach about $600 after paying ex
penses. It turned out that Mrs. Dave
son, at the request of her - husband, so
it is alleged, borrowed $275 from the
Holtby bank, and a warrant was issued
for her arrest, it being claimed that the
money was got under misrepresenta
tion. The woman was takento Strat-
ford Wednesday night, but is now out
on bail. In addition tool! these monies,
it is said, Dawson sold four head of fat
cattle, for - which he realized $260.
Everything i8 gone, and we believe
they are left without a penny. Daw-
