It has been said that Mr. Leigh told around that the Wiechelsea Creamery had charged six cents a pound for making butter this season. Such was not the case and Mr. Jones in a speech lasting ono hour and ten minutes, convinced Mr Leigh that his statements were erroneous and which he finally acknowledged. The actual cost was four and a half cents. Zurich, DmATH OF C. BENEDICT.--This week it becomesoursad duty to record the death of one of Zurich's oldest and most respected citizens in the person of Mr. C. Benedict, who died yesterday, (Wed.) after a prolonged illness from consump- tion. The funeral will take place from his late residence on Saturday next, at one o'clock, under Masonic auspices. Seevui WEDDING, -A veru pleasant event took place at the residence of Mr and Mrs. Bossenberry, on Friday even- ing last, when the L. O. T. M., Ladies of Friendship Hive, No. 7. assembled to do honor to the worthy host and hostess in celebratiug their silver wedding. All were heartily welcomed, when Lady E Holt, on behalf of the Hive, present- ed Lady Bossenberry with a beautiful silver butter dish and a complimentary address. The good Lady heartily re- sponded and thanked them for their kindly remembrance. Mr. Wm. Holt, by request of the gentlemen present then took the floor and presented Mr. Bossenberry with an excellent spring rocking chair, who in return thanked his many friends for so worthy* a token. At the proper hour an excellent tea, provided by the host and hostess, was served and the tables fairly groaned under their heavy burdens, to which all did ample justice.' The tea over, all enjoyed a few hours socially in sing- ing,music, etc.«, after which the Band gave three cheers for Mr, and Mrs. Bossenberry and ail retired to the re •spective homes wishing them the great- est measure of happiness and prosperity and hoping to meet again to celebrate their golden wedding. SUDDEN DnaTn.--On Friday even- ing, about 7 80, Mrs. Bernard Thomp sou, expired rather suddenly. She ate a hearty supper and was doing her work as usual when she suddenly drop ped and died instantly, the cause being heart failure.
