No other medicine ever possessed so much curative power, or reached such enormous sales, or made such won- derful cures, as hood's Sarsaparilla.. It is undoubtedly the best medicine ever made to purify, vitalize and en- rich the blood. That is the Secret Of its swccess. Read this statement: ((When my son was 7 years of age, he had rheumatic fever and dcute rheuma- tism, which, settled in his left hip. He was eo sick that no one thought there was any help for hint. Five sores broke out on his thigh, which the doctor said were sores. We had three different doctors. Pieces of bone came out of the sores. The last doctor said the leg would have to be out of and the bone scraped, before he could get well. Howard became so low that he would eat nothing, and one doc- tor said there was no chance for hint, "One day, a newspaper recommending Hood's Sarsaparilla was loft at our. door. We decided to try this medicine. Howard cqunneneed taking it the last of February, after having been sick for a year and a ti half. He hadn't taken It a week before 1 his i appetite e an to im improve, that b g l , and then he gained rapidly. I gave him five bottles, when the sores were all healed and they never broke out again. On two former occasions he performed the feat with success, Ho was announced to re- peat the trick at 11 o'oloek to -day. The current carried bine quickly down strenn, the canoe shot the dam. It instantly upset, however, and the oceu- pcant was euur ht in the swirl of the fall and buried under the water, but Sickles never rose again, The drowning alarm box was immediately pulled, and the life: boat crew promptly responded. The boat was quickly rowed to the place, lout no signs of the unfortunate Iran could be seen. Catharines, Ont., May 24.-x1. slick job was put up cu several of our mer- chants on St. Paul street Saturday night. A` young than, calling himself L. Ken- neth Houston, Of New York, came to the Welland House about ten days ago. He represented hionself as an artist, said he was commissioned by a firm to .New York oily to paint a nundier of pictures in oil to decorate a large building in that city, and that he intended to paint many of the pictures from scenery in thio vicinity, He rented rooms, hired a piano and, to all apre.Lrauces, meant business. Satur- day night he tool: a walk along St. Paul street and dropped into several of the leading stores and made purchases rang- ing from $7 to $10, giving his cheque in payment, for a much larger amount, receiving his chane in good Canadian money. In order to satisfy the merchants that everything was straight, Houston produced a bank. book, showing a balance to his credit in the Gernoan-Aniericl.n Bank, Buffalo, of $000. He returned tb the Welland House between 0 and 10 o'clock Saturday night and retired to his room. On Sunday morning he did not putin an appearance, and on searching. his room nothing was found but an old suit of Clothes, which he had left and donned an elegant suit he had purcbased with one of his bogus cheques Saturday night. How he got out of the Welland 'House and took his trunk with him 'is a mystery. as a watohman was on duty all night. Tho merchants who were victim- ized aro feeling very sore over the affair, but it is doubtful if they will be able to Capture Houston. , Mo1i.iniey Congratulates the Queen.
