In combination, proportion and
process Hood's Sarsaparilla is peculiar
to itself, and unequalled in true, merit.
No other medicine ever possessed so
ruell curative slower, or reached such
enormous sales, or made such won-
derful cures, as .Hood's ,Sarsaparilla.
It is undoubtedly the best medicine
ever made to verify, vitalize and en-
rich: the blood.
That is the secret of its success.
Read this statement:
"When my son was 7 years of age, ho
had rheumatic fever and acute rheuma-
tism, which settled in his left hip. He
was so sick that no one thought there was
any help for him. Five sores broke out
on his thigh, which, the doctor said were

sores. We had three different doctors.
Pieces of bone came out of the sores.: The
last doctor said the leg would have to be
cut open and the bone scraped, before be
could get well. Howard became so low
that ho would eat nothing, and one doc-
tor said there was no chance for hint.
"One day, a newspaper recommending
Hood's Sarsaparilla was left at our door.
Wo decided to try this medicine. Howard
commenced taking it the last of February,
after haying been sick tor a year and a
half. Be hadn't taken it a week before I
saw that his appetite began to improve,
and then he gained rapidly. I gave him
five bottles, when the sores were all healed
and %hey never broke out again. The
crutches he had used for four years were
laid aside, as he had no further use for
them. I give all the credit to Hood's Sar-
saparilla. Ml's. ALA L, Moony, Fay

Canadian Immigration.
liiondon, Oot. 13. -The Canadian Gov-
ernment nave given full assurances to
their friends here of their inteetion to
make strenuous eilorts to people the
vacant lands of the great Northwest. The
Canadian Government have at the same
time called for detailed suggestions from
Government agents and steamship coln-
panies concerned in inanligration, with a
view to formulating a workable schema
to attract carefully selected emigrants
from Great Britain, Germany, Austria,
and Soandinaela. One hundred and
thirty :thousand five hundred emigrants
have left already this year for the United•
States, against 19,845 for Canada. Can-
ada has therefore plenty of scope, and it
is stated that thousands of excellent
foreign settlers would, gladly join their
compatriots in the Northwest in the
spring if the Government would assist in
the expense of transit. Political freedom
makes Canada a paradise to Continental
emigrants, while they are far less exact-
ing than the English and Scotch emi-
grants. Meanwhile Chili :is offering free
passages, free land, mad free live 'stock
to emigrants. The fact of the recent
Canadian immigration to Brasil is being
heed hero to dissuade Settlement - in Can-

Weakened Nerves and
Nervous Diseases Are

Paine's Celery Compound Makes
_'er,rous People Well and
Strong.
Health is the firet and most import-
ant thing in this life of ours. Health
is a blessing far beyond our computa-
tion; it is vastly more important than.
wealth or great social distinction.
One of the most dreaded troubles of the
present day is nervousness, IG is gen.
erally acknowledged that nervous dis-
eases are g1'owitlg alarmingly preval-
ent in our midst,
The causes that lead to 'Neurasthen-
ia, or
eurasthenia,.or weakness of the Herres, are many.
Business cares, feverish haste after
riches, social and household worries,
sexual and alcoholic excesses all contri-
bute to the breaking down and physi-
cal ruin of thousands of men and wo
men.
Iu words of truth and soberness we
set before the sick and afflicted the
claims of Paine's Celery Compoundas
a quick relief and certain cure for all
Corms of nervous diseases. It is a per -
feet sGorer of nerve force and power
to the weakened and debilitedu system,
Promineut men and women, all , over
the coumtry, have renewed theirlives
and kept their places in business and
in society by using Paine's Celery
Compound, Iu all large cities, where
nervous diseases are most frequently
seen, the best physicians prescribe
Paine's Celery Compound with immense
success.
The following letter from Mrs Alfred
Perry, Port Maitland, N.B., proves that
Pa'ne's Celery Compound has no equal
for the mire of nervous diseases in
whatever form they may present thenl-
selyes
"For two years my . system was all
run down, and T suffered more than I
can describe from nervous prostration
and insomnia; at times 1; almost lost
my reason from severe pain at base of
brain. My husband advised me to try
Paine's Celery Compound, which I did
and the effects were wonderful. I soon
began to sleep well, the pain left my
head, my whole system was strength
ened, and I am now enjoying very good
health.
I would cheerfully recommend Pain-
e's Celery Compound, to any one suffer-
ing from like troubles. You have my
best wisher for the future success of
your excellent remedy."
