Lines on the Jessie .K.eith Murcter,
All who wish to hear a sensation,
Draw near unto me while 1 telt
Of yoeng Jessie Keith's cruel murder,
13y a tramp by the name of Mattel'.
Young Jessie not thinking. of danger,
With her message returning from town;
Was met by the merciless stranger
Who confessed to knocking her down.
Then cutting and carving, his victim,
Ohl Sad is the news I must tell!
When I tell you what happened young Jessie,
By the monster Almeda Chattels.
He has left a sad strain on our country—
Fur to think that a man could be found,
That would murder an innocent girl,
And shed her life.biood on the ground.
And for it he died on the scaffold—
If its true what the newspapers say;
At the jail in the city of Stratford,
He was hung on the last day of May.
Then send the sad news to her parents—
May the Lord give them help from aboee
And strengh to stand the sad tidings
01 such a fate for the one that they loved.
It is awful to think that a villain
In defiance of our British laws,
Would murder an innocent girl,
And that too without any cause.
Let us bope that the press of this country,
Will rot have such tidings to tell
As that with the death, of young Jessie
And hanging such cranks as Chattels.
