Paine's Celery Compound Saved lien Life
and Renewed Her Strength.
THE BEST MEDICINE FOR THE OLD AND YOUNG.
It is now an established fact that our
clear fathers and mothers anti our
grandparents canhave their lives pro-
longed, and .their years made happy
iud joyous by the use of Paine's Celery
Compound.
Many old people suffer from nerve
troubles, rheumatism, kidney' and liver
complaint, sleeplessnese, and terrible
paralysiSS With snch dangerous dis-
oases clinging to them, they are liable
ro drop off at any moment.
If we are truly and honestly inter-
ested in the welfare of the old people,
we will anxiously seek to the egettcy
that will best meet their troubles. in
rhe past, thousands of our aged people
codwavemeommvon
have been rescued from death by
Pain's Celery Compound, and and are
now enjoyiying a happy old age.
Every week new testimony is received
from old people, as well as from their
friends and relations, lauding the
strengthening and rejuvenating pow-
ers of earth's best medicine.
Mrs. James Cain, of Perott Settlement,
N. 8,, now in her eighty first year, has
just sent in convincing and cheering
testimony regarding the value . of
Paine's Celery Compound; she writes
as follows:-
, " I am happy to state that Paine's
Celery Compound has been a great bles.
ging to me. InNovember, 1893, the
whole cf my right side was paralized,
and the doctor said I was too weak to
"In ray weak condition I began us-
ing Paine's Celery Compound. The
first bottle gave me relief. 'continued
to use the compound, and I have gain-
ed health, strength and flesh, and my
friends say I look quite healthy. Al
though in my eight first year, my
limbs are getting strcuger, and I hope
soon to be quite myself again.
1 would advise all who are suffering
from paralysis and other troublLs to use
Paioe's Celery Compottnd and the Wills'
English Pills that accompany the com-
pound, and if properly used, kthev will
surely cure"

ience on Friday evening. As they were
dri')'ing through Brinsley Mr, Lewis
hit one of the horses with the whip, and
as he did sO the animal immediately
kicked and the two horses started to
run at a lively rate. Mr. Lewis tried his
utmost to stop them, and finally turned
them into the fence, and the buggy
struck'the fencettreaking the tongue
and throwing Miss Sceli out. The team
then, ran about a mile before they were
caught . Beyond being shaken up,

GERMAN AFFAIRS.
The German Empire has 10,930,000 wo-
men over the age of 16.
The Empsror of Germany, it is said, has
decided to honor Bismarck by having his
head stamped on a future issue •of Ger-
man coins.
During the Franco-Prtlsian war the
Germans fired. 30,000,000 rifle cartridges
and 363,000 charges of artillery, killing or
mortally wounding 77,000 Frenchmen,
showing that 400 shots are required to
hill or mortally wound one man.
A new outer sole is being tried on the
boots of the German soldiers by direct
order of the emperor. It consists of a
paste of linseed oil varnish and iron fil-
ings, which is said torendor the sole flex-
ible and make it more durable than the
new aluminum boot nails.
The Gorman emperor's imperial train
oost $760,000, and took three years to con-
struct. There are altogether twelve oars,
iucluding two nursery carriages. The re-
ception saloon contains several pieces of
statuary, and each of the sleeping oars is
fitted with a bath.
Brinsles : A very aerioas and pain-
ful accident occurred on the farm of
Mr. Wm, Hardy on Tuesday last. It
appears Mr. Hardy went to the stable
to water one of his horses, and as he
was going into the stall the horse sud-
denly sprang forward and kicked him,
striking him on the left leg a few inch
es above the knee, breaking the bone.
Ile was immediately removed to his
house and medical aid summoned. It
was found that the bone was badly
shattered and the flesh badly bruised.
As Mr. Hardy is a man who is past
middle age and who for the last few
yeas has not had very good health, it
will undoubtedly be a long time before
he is able to be around again.
Clinton: George Constable, a former
resident of Seaforth, was given a
nig,ht'slodging in the Clinton lockup
last Wednesday. From what we have
learned be spent the winter months at
Castle Dixon, in Goderich, and was on
his return. On receiving, his liberty
Thursday morning lie did not leave
town and was given another night's
lodging. On Friday morning about 8
o'elock be was found dead as though
he had slept away. Coroner Shaw sum
moned a jury and held an inquest 115
required by law, the following gentle-
men being empaneled:-S, J. Andrews,
foreman; John Sheppard, James Steep,
J. Biddlecombe, Wm. Robb, David Cook
S. G. Plummer, Peter Canty Ion, Sr., A.
M. Todd, James Ross, John Scruton,
John Johnston. Eleven witnesses were
examined, the evidence going to show
that deceased had been a victim of
apoplexy and that he had on Thursday
evening taken an unusual quantity of
morphine pills, and a number of Sed-
letz povvders during the day. There
was nothing to prove where he had se-
cured the morphine. The jury brought
in the verdict "That the said Geo, Con-
stable died during the night of May
9th or the morning of May 10th from
apoplexy and morphine poisoeing, said
morphine being administered by Ms
own hand." The deceased was aged
between 50 and 60 yearS, The remains
were taken charge of by relatives at
Seaforth, where the interment, took
place.
