A Worthy Undertaking.
EN TERPRISING CITIZENS
The new grist and flouring mill has
been the subject of the past week and
present, the location is almost found
and in the mind, the structure is going
upward, and will, sooner or later, be
completed. Push, tact and industry is
the secret of all true success, and we
hope linin find its reward in this move-
ment. A wise and prudent use of ways
and means is 31e0essary, Careful spend-
ing of money and getting therefor the
best and most satisfying returns. This
we should study with care, and in purr
chasing your winter supplies of Dry
Goods, Gents' Furnishings, Boots and
Shoes, Rubbers and Overshoes,Carpets,
Crockery and Glassware, and General
Groceries, you cannot get better value
for your money than those offered by
the owner of this space. 1 do not aim
at being the Cheap Store in town, (that
is what is generally understood by the
word Cheap.) I avoid offering "trashy
wares." From the beginning, I have
striven to put before my customer
nothing butfirst-class Goods—sometimes
failed in judgment --.-but 90 times out of
the 100 we have won the respect and
confidence of the buyer. We are still
of the same mind. If you want a good
article, its worth, must be given, We
ask you who read those lines ;to please
come and examine the Goods shown on
our shelves and be convinced. In
Tweeds, Pantings, Overcoats, Rubber
Coats, and Underwear an excellent
supply; we guarantee them.
Yours very truly,
Y. P. Oyi qqiCE

GENTLEMEN,—About five years ago I
noticed on my hands a great number of
soft Soong y warts very painful, and which
bled when touched. I never witnessed any-
thing like it and was quite alarmed.
We are never without Hagyard's Yellow
Oil, and one evening my little girl, applied
Rite each wart. They did this several
nights and in the morning the pain and
itching were so bad I had to cool my hands
with snow, but finally the warts dropped
out and 1 have never been troubled since.

THE WORST OP ALL THE ISMS.
"Don't talk to me about political "isms"
said a facetious old valetudinarian, "f tell
you there's no ism on earth so bad as
Rheumatism," The venerable sufferer was
right, St Lawrence's gridiron or Quatimo-
zip's pallet of .fire was .not more emphatic-
ally a bed of torment than the couch of
the martyr to rheumatism. Itis generally
considered by the faculty the most painful
of maladies, and it certainly does resist
all ordinary remedies with extraordinary
pertinacity. Skill and science, however,
in this age of progress, seem to master all
opposition; and even this painful disease,
entrenched among themuselea,and interknit
as it were with the sinews and tendons of
our frames, is compelled to yield to the
curatiyes they have provided.
We have it on unquestionable authority
—the testimony of patients themselves—
that rheumatism, however deeply seated,
may be cured by the regular and persistent
application of Holloway's Ointment. This,
we feel assured, will bo welcome iutelli-
gence to thousands of sufferers, bed -ridden
by the disease, or limpiug with stiffened
joints along the pathway to the tomb. In
a climate where the quicksilver sometimes
makes a leap of thirty degrees up or down,
the complaint is of course a prevalent ono;
and in our new settlement at the west,
the alluvial borders if our great rivers, in
the hemlock swamps of the South, and in
all low and damp locations, few persons
reach the age of forty years without a
rheumatic visitation. It is clear, there•
fore that a preparation R Molt will afford
immediate relief, and effect eventually a
thorough cure of the complaint, must be
of especial value to the people of all coun-
tries. We cannot reasonably doubt, in
view of the well•attested statements which
]lave been laid before us, sustained as they
are by circumstances within our own
knowledge, that the Ointment referred
to will effect that object; and among all
the benefits which the discoveries of that
celebrated physician and philanthropist
have conferred upon maukind, this is
certainly not least important. Many an
industrious tiller of the soil, whose ser-
vices are needed in the field, is at this mo-
ment languishing on a bed of sickness;
the hands that should guide the plough or
grasp the spade rendered powerless by
Rheumatism- Many a toiler in every branch
of productive labor is similarly situated;
and we can imagine with what joy these
sufferers would hail the means of im-
mediate cure. To all such we feel justified
in recommending this balsamic remedy,
the application of which, the aid of a few
doses of Holloway's Pills to regulate the
internal organs, would, we feel assured,
restore them to health and usefulness.—
